How it works
Direct your own services. Live the life you choose.
The Self-Determination Program (SDP) is California’s voluntary alternative to traditional Regional Center services. Instead of having services chosen for you, you receive an individual budget and direct it toward the supports that fit your life — providers you choose, schedules that work, goals that matter to you.
As your Independent Facilitator, I help you navigate the process from end to end. Together we build a person-centered plan, develop a spending plan that fits your budget, and find providers and resources aligned with your goals. You make the decisions. I make sure the system works for you.

Person-Centered Planning and SDP Enrollment Support
Together we build a person-centered plan that reflects who you are and what you want — then walk through every step of SDP enrollment.

Individual Budget Management
I help you make sense of your individual budget, allocate it wisely, and keep it aligned with your goals throughout the year.

Service Coordination
From finding the right providers to navigating generic resources, I help you build supports that work together.

Ongoing Facilitation
Life changes. Plans shift. I stay with you over time — through periodic check-ins, annual renewals, and the unexpected — to keep your supports in sync with your life.
Self Determination program
How do I get started?
Self Determination Program is open to all clients of California’s Regional Centers who are eligible for Lantermans Services. If you are interested in transitioning from the traditional model to SDP, the first step is to attend a two part orientation with the State Council on Developmental Disabilities.
